The FUTURO Project Intern will primarily assist CONTRA-TIEMPO Activist Dance Theater in successfully producing and facilitating our 2-week FUTURO Summer Dance Intensive program that brings together between 40 to 60 participants from all around the world. As our longest and most impactful program, they'll work closely with our Rehearsal and Programming Director to support the intentional, equitable, and community based recruitment strategies to help fill the program. They’ll be the direct point of contact for participants and will be able to participate in FUTURO as well as support the teaching artists in any ways that are needed. Through our circular leadership model inside our horizontal organizational structure they’ll have the opportunity to receive direct feedback from the Managing Director while also receiving knowledge and guidance from our entire team. This is a full time summer position with 40 hours of work a week for 10 weeks from June through August.
Candidates should have a sincere and demonstrated interest in work at the intersection of arts and social justice—specifically within an anti-racism context; and a commitment to engaging in an organizational culture that calls on people to be their fullest, most compassionate and loving selves. An interest in performing arts and arts education is also highly desirable. The candidate should also have experience in the following: knowledge of office management systems and procedures i.e G Suite, dropbox, vimeo; excellent time management skills and ability to multitasking and prioritize work; attention to detail and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and planning skills; comfortability with making phone calls and communicating with others.
