The Communications and Membership Intern will play an energizing role in organizing, planning, and executing website and social content, and communications campaigns that support MUSE/IQUE’s season of live events throughout the 2024 calendar year. The intern will collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Membership Manager to create compelling social media and email campaigns: storytelling before and during live events to create excitement, contributing to communications that grow our member base, and crafting copy for different and diverse audiences and platforms. This media also supports community outreach that promotes free access to MUSE/IQUE’s live events for underserved populations, ensuring that everyone can have access to transformative live music experiences. This position will work 20-25 hrs/wk from June through November.
MUSE/IQUE is seeking a reliable, self-starting intern with honesty, integrity, and curiosity. Successful candidates will have good critical thinking skills and pay great attention to detail, a deep desire to learn and a strong sense of initiative, work well independently, and are problem-solvers who can work with multiple priorities as a part of a team, but will ask for help when needed. The intern will have strong written, organizational and project management skills. Computer and basic social media literacy is required (including Office, Zoom, GDrive, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube). Preference will be given to those with experience in Adobe Illustrator. No prior knowledge of email marketing platforms is required, but strong candidates will want to receive training in this area. The intern must be available to work some evening and weekend hours, have a reliable form of transportation and current driver’s license. Business parking and mileage will be reimbursed.

MUSE/IQUE is a member-supported, nonprofit performing arts organization making radically engaging live music experiences accessible for all. Built on a tradition of community and collaboration, we create events that feature an eclectic mix of artists and artistic disciplines in unconventional locations. MUSE/IQUE was founded to upend the misconception that live orchestral music and performing arts are elitist, unapproachable, and, frankly, dull! Our mission is to build empathy and expand imaginations through transformative live events and strong partnerships in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area.
