Description

The Arts Marketing Intern will play a key role in developing digital marketing strategy and promoting LAMusArt’s youth arts education programs to further the mission of the organization. The Intern will participate in arts education programs, assist with developing and disseminating creative, thoughtful, culturally-relevant materials for print and digital distribution in order to generate awareness of programs and deepen engagement with LAMusArt’s surrounding Eastside communities. The intern will work approximately 30 hours per week from June to September.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Familiarity with Social Media management tools
  • Bring new thoughts and creative ideas to the marketing strategy
  • Knowledge of any arts discipline to help drive creative for campaigns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A demonstrated high attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Proven strong organizational skills
  • Problem solver with positive, can do attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or proficiency with editing platforms (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Canva) preferably with some examples of editing work using these tools
  • Demonstrated passion for the arts and the community
  • Additional creative endeavors, performing, play or film production experience, student film work or musical talent a plus
  • Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make one's self understood to Spanish speaking individuals
Background

LAMusArt is the cornerstone for arts education on LA’s Eastside. The organization is centered in East Los Angeles and is a haven for learning in Music, Art, Dance and Drama for all, primarily K-12 youth. Each week LAMusArt engages over 530 students of varying levels, offering consistent, reliable, year-round programs to place children on a creative path to a creative future.
