Working with Impro Theatre’s production and administrative staff, the Intern’s duties will include maintaining our overall programming schedule, ensuring effective communication and coordination between different team members, supporting production staff during performances, helping implement marketing and fundraising strategies, and more. The Intern will work approximately 25 hours a week from June through September 2022. Students from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with excellent organizational, communication and writing skills, along with great attention to detail. The Intern should have a strong interest in the arts, have the ability to multitask in a busy environment, and enjoy working as part of a team. An interest in theatre and improv would be helpful, along with an interest in theatre production, arts administration, fundraising, event planning, and/or learning how nonprofits operate. A positive outlook and sense of humor are highly appreciated. Seriously. Experience in any of the following are not required but would be a plus: Photoshop or Illustrator, video production, video editing, social media marketing and accounting.

Background

Impro Theatre performs completely improvised plays in the styles of the world’s greatest writers. We have performed all throughout Los Angeles, and the LA Times describes us by writing, "Impro Theatre has evolved into a powerhouse improvisational company in full-length shows that are off-the-cuff and consistently hilarious. A Los Angeles treasure, the company should be seen—and reseen!" We present a full-slate of improvised programming every weekend at our headquarters in Los Feliz. We also manage the Impro Theatre School, which provides classical and improv training to students of all levels and skills.
