In close collaboration with the Artistic & Administrative Directors, the Marketing & Program Intern’s primary project will be assisting with the marketing & program efforts for our “Youth Theater Summer Intensive” and “Adobe Punk” production. Including: MARKETING—create an “Adobe Punk” social media campaign to develop audience & engagement; create related marketing collateral (info sheet, videos, etc.); manage social media & communications for arts education programs; assist other marketing efforts as assigned by the marketing team including a marketing consultant, producing artistic director, administrative director, & marketing assistant. PROGRAMS—work on various production-related tasks for the “Youth Theater Summer Intensive,” & “Adobe Punk” as it moves from pre-production to full production including on-site logistics, rehearsal and front-of-house management support; assist the Program Director with duties as assigned. Intern will work approx 15-20 hours/wk from June-November.
The ideal candidate will be able to take direction and run with it. This requires enthusiasm, clear communication, good time management, and the ability to work well independently. They should have a passion for the performing arts in general, and a desire to learn about the L.A. arts and culture landscape. They should have excellent writing skills, Macintosh proficient, and experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google apps. Experience with photo and/or video editing software and graphics programs are highly encouraged. Other assets include marketing and/or community outreach experience; and production planning experience. Interest in Los Angeles history and familiarity with ensemble-based theater and/or theater by communities of color is very helpful. Preference will be given to those applicants with a serious interest in pursuing a career in the performing arts, arts education, arts administration, and/or marketing.
