Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center is one of the United States' leading independent literary arts centers and public spaces dedicated to expanding the public's knowledge of poetry, literature and art through cultural events and community interaction. The organization was founded in 1968, when a group of experimental poets and artists gathered in a Venice storefront to start a public space dedicated to new forms of writing, publishing, and literary/artistic community. Now housed in the historic Old Venice City Hall, Beyond Baroque has been the key institution in the development of Los Angeles’ grassroots literary culture, and has helped nurture the careers of a number of prominent American poets and artists, including Amanda Gorman and Wanda Coleman.
Please apply to the internship by sending a resume and cover letter describing your qualifications and interest in the position to Jimmy Vega at jimmy@beyondbaroque.org.
