The Production Intern will work closely with East West Players staff and theatrical artisans and craftsmen to see to the operations of the theatre during the 2024-2025 Season. Through this internship, they will work on productions and special events produced internally. The intern will gain a thorough introduction to the inner workings of a mid-sized theatre organization while learning specific skills in production, technical theatre, event management and logistics. They will work 15-20 hours per week from June 2024 through February 2025.
Applicants must feel a connection to the impact of EWP and have a desire to support the mission & work of EWP; interest in and knowledge of API issues and/or issues of diversity, equity, access and inclusion in performing arts is a plus. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical theatre, design, event planning/management, ability to multitask and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Must be proficient in internet-research & MS Office. Applicants with any experience in Stage Management, Carpentry & rigging, Theatrical lighting, or Audio Visual technologies are a plus. Working knowledge of vectorworks, AutoCAD, Lightwright, Qlab, ETC Ion/Eos or other industry standard computer aided drafting and show management software is desirable.
