Social Media Intern: Ebony Repertory Theatre is looking for a savvy social media person to promote our 2024-2025 season to thousands of new audience members across social media platforms. You will be active in the design of our new brochure and marketing tool. If you are an organized self–starter, a multi-tasker with a can-do attitude and the ability to get the job done, this is the job for you. You will take part in all aspects of managing a small non-profit, including answering phones, filing, managing data, and interacting with theatre patrons, to researching social media engines that match our profile for potential audiences. You will design and develop a social media distribution calendar for the marketing of the organization’s upcoming production season. This is a full, 40 hour week summer internship that will begin in June 2024 and end in August 2024. It is mandatory that the intern be available for the full, consecutive 10 week internship.
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, social media strategies and platforms. S/he must possess excellent written communication, verbal communication, and research skills. The intern must have a professional demeanor both in person and over the phone, initiative to take the next step, ability to meet deadlines, and use tact in interacting with the public. It is extremely important that they have an ability to multi-task and work with diverse personalities. She/he must maintain an oath of confidentiality during and after this internship. A car is not required, however should this need arise, we do require a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
Ebony Repertory Theatre (ERT), is the resident company and operator of the 399 seat, state of the art, Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, located in Los Angeles' mid-city community. ERT, Los Angeles only African American Professional Theatre Company (Actors’ Equity) produces and presents professional theatre, dance, and music rooted in the experience of the African Diaspora and shaped by a dynamic perspective that incorporates an understanding of, and respect for the unique African American journey from slavery to freedom.” Our intern should be creative and seeking a great summer experience in performing arts administration and management.
