With generous support from the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, the International Documentary Association (IDA) is excited to offer eligible undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in a paid summer internship. From June 2024 through December 2024, the Documentary magazine Intern will work approximately 15-20 hours per week (potentially 30-40 hours a week based on duration of intern availability) under the supervision of IDA editorial staff to undertake research, analysis and writing that will support a thriving national documentary community. The Intern will have opportunities to learn about IDA, understand the essential elements of producing a leading arts publication, and understand the national documentary landscape as well as some of the issues that are most important to filmmakers.
- Facility with Google Suite applications - Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills - Understanding of task management, database and content management software, such as Airtable, Drupal, and Asana - Interest in documentary film/nonfiction media and/or arts criticism and commentary
