KCRW is looking for an organized, hardworking, creative, and passionate intern to join our News and Culture departments in Summer 2024, from June to August. The Editorial Intern will work with the Chief Content Officer for approximately 40 hours/week from June to August to support the planning and coordination of stories in both departments. Through research and organization, the intern will build a planning calendar that tracks future events for our News and Culture teams to keep a finger on the pulse of current affairs and events within a variety of industry sectors. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the News department and public radio operations at one of the country’s most well-known stations. We plan for this internship to be hybrid, taking place in-person at our Media Center in Santa Monica and remotely.
- Familiarity with Google Workplace (Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail, etc.) - Strong writing skills - Strong interpersonal communication skills (in email, on the phone) - Familiarity with research and organization tactics - Interest in News and Culture storytelling
