The administrative intern will get the chance to develop highly sought-after administrative skills related to operating a small 501(c)3 non-profit in the performing arts. The intern will work flexible shifts, approximately 15-20 hours a week starting in July 2024. The main goal of the internship is to support our dance troupe and cultural arts lessons from behind the scenes. The intern will learn a variety of topics, such as: client emails, applying for grants, google ad management, and handling performance contracts and liability insurance. They will work directly with the organization president, who has a over a decade of experience. The intern will work flexible shifts, approximately 15-20 hours a week starting in July 2024 to February 2025.
The intern must be fluent in English. They will be handling organizational affairs where being concise and polite are highly valued (emails, phones calls). They be able to handle basic emails and phone calls. We expect very basic knowledge of Google and Microsoft work applications such as: Docs, Word, and Excel. They must know how to use Facebook and Youtube, or be able to self-teach themselves how to use these platforms. A successful intern will have good organizational skills, excellent reading & writing skills, and the ability to work independently. They will also be given the chance to manage our media presence through Youtube and Google Ads. An intern who can create flyers, edit videos, or knows basic graphic design through programs such as Canva, Photoshop, or Adobe, would be a step ahead. Most importantly, the intern should be passionate about learning new skills and have a good personality to get along with other people.
The JC Culture Foundation is a 501C (3) non-profit Asian cultural arts organization based in Cerritos. We are most known for our dance troupe which consist of Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, Folk Dance, and the Drums. Our organization provides free cultural and arts services to our communities through free public performances and free after school lessons to students K-College age. We also provide free arts lessons to schools and invite arts teachers to demonstrate a traditional Asian art such Chinese paper cutting or calligraphy. Established in 2013.
