The Margaret Herrick Library is seeking an intern to assist and support the Special Collections department in the managing the processing of collections to them accessible for research use. The intern will gain experience in all aspects of collections encountered in a library setting, including activities related to processing, inventories, location management, data entry, and research access. Community college and undergraduate film students with a strong interest in moving image archival studies or library science are encouraged to apply. This position will work approximately 30 hours a week from June to August. This internship also is part of Academy Gold, a summer internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy Members. Qualifications and Requirements: -Coursework in film studies, film history, moving image archive studies, or library science preferred -Strong computer skills with database experience -Strong written communication and organizational skills with attention to detail -Ability to work independently and collaboratively -Self-motivated, dependable, and efficient with good problem-solving skills -Ability to lift/move moderately heavy boxes (20 lbs.) and other objects to and from high and low shelves, as well as sit at a computer and enter data for long periods of time.
