ENCORE is looking for an intern with some experience in theater for the role of Instruction and Development/Marketing Intern working approx 30-40 hours/week running June 2023 through mid August and approx 20 hours per week August through February. For live or virtual productions interns may teach theater skills, take notes, communicate with participants, make mic, costume, or shift plots, stage manage a rehearsal, work backstage during productions, and/or work with small groups to review at the director's discretion as well as developing and procuring marketing materials. Experience in/near theater, familiarity with Microsoft and Google programs, excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills are a must. Familiarity with graphic design, Canva and/or Adobe products is a plus.
The successful candidate will be extremely organized and be comfortable working around a variety of temperaments in a very busy environment, as well as have the ability to think critically and solve problems. They will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft and Google programs, and Adobe and Canva softwares, and have excellent customer service and communication skills. They will work very well with children and will have experience performing in or around musical theater. Experience with social media, and marketing content creation is a plus for this position, or a strong desire to learn these aspects of a small business/theater company. In addition, the intern will help with the details of running a theater program, including developing marketing materials, processing student enrollments, creating and selling tickets, answering emails & phones, and contributing ideas as part of the planning team.
