ENCORE is looking for an intern with some experience in theatre for the dual role of Instructor/Production Intern, working approx 20 -30 hours/week running June 2022 through November 2022 . For live or virtual productions interns may teach theatre skills, take notes, communicate with participants, make mic, costume, or shift plots, stage manage a rehearsal, work backstage during productions, and/or work with small groups to review at the director's discretion. Experience in/near theatre, familiarity with Microsoft and Google programs, excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills are a must.
The successful candidate will be extremely organized and be comfortable working around a variety of temperaments in a very busy environment, as well as have the ability to think critically and solve problems. They will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft and Google programs and have excellent customer service and communication skills. They will work very well with children and will have experience performing in or around musical theater. Virtual programing, musical theatre experience and knowledge of audio and lighting is not required but will be extremely helpful. In addition, the intern will help with the details of running a theatre program, including developing marketing materials, processing student enrollments, creating and selling tickets, answering emails & phones, and contributing ideas as part of the planning team.
Encore is an all-ages community and educational theatre organization dedicated to strengthening our community through providing high quality musical and theatre training in a supportive and inclusive environment. When not virtual, Encore is based out of Torrance and performs in the local Beach Cities and Harbor Areas.
