Background

After a long pandemic hiatus Green Communications Initiative is thrilled to be seeking a Production Intern for the return to its large outdoor signature festival event, the Mar Vista Music & Art Walk. The Mar Vista Music & Art Walk (MVMAW) is a fun, FREE multidisciplinary community arts event. Since 2014, the quarterly MVMAW have transformed the sidewalks, parking lots, local galleries and businesses of Venice Blvd west of the 405 Freeway into a festival of visual and performing arts.  Featuring live music, live painting, art exhibitions, spoken word, movement, experimental video, film and theatre, as many as 20,000 attendees annually have walked and enjoyed this 1+ mile outdoor arts festival. There will be two MVMAW in 2022 -- in July and December -- organized around a social justice theme.   The Production Intern will work with the MVMAW production staff to produce and mount the July 2022 event,  “Solidarity” (emphasizing solidarity of underrepresented voices in the arts).
