The Ciro Hurtado Group is a seven-member ensemble, performing Latin American folk jazz and world music. The group is headed by the renowned Peruvian guitarist and Latin Grammy® nominee Ciro Hurtado and showcases the rhythms and instrumentation from several Latin American countries. At the heart and soul of their performances is Ciro’s guitar work, characterized as passionate, melodic, global, and transformative. Original works written by Ciro evoke motifs, landscapes, and exciting elements of South American styles and rhythms.
Using resources from various ends of the musical spectrum while taking cues from traditional mariachi sounds and blending layers of modern sonics, De'Anza is a breath of fresh air in a rather smoggy metropolis. Redefining what it is to be Latin Alternative, De'Anza creates an eclectic mix of music, crossing borders and boundaries, resulting in a new take on an old form.
In surf lingo, hodad means “one who poses as a surfer.” Though none of the members of this party band would be caught dead on a surfboard, rest assured that these talented entertainers are no pretenders. The Hodads combine high energy music, stylish outfits, celebrity impersonations, and audience participation into extraordinary performances.
Accompanied by her accordion, her toy piano, and a fiery band, LA-based chanteuse and songwriter Jessica Fichot draws from her multi-ethnic French/Chinese/American heritage to create an intoxicating multilingual fusion of French chanson, Shanghai jazz, gypsy swing, and international folk. With three acclaimed albums under her belt (Le Chemin, Le Secret, and Dear Shanghai), Jessica has brought her music to audiences around the world–regularly performing in China, Mexico, Canada, Western Europe, and the United States.
Grammy® award winner, Rosalie Elena Rodriguez, is no stranger to the blending of Latin American roots and rhythms. A Mexican-American, Puerto Rican-native of California and a third generation Mariachi musician, she is uniquely gifted with a sultry style that blends tropical, afro-peruvian, jazz, and mariachi flavors. Her first solo album, Frente a Frente, opens the door to the intimacy of love, loss, and pain while seamlessly fusing traditional Cuban and Mexican bolero with the Afro-rooted Peruvian sounds of the Cajón
Sgt. Peppers is a Beatles tribute band that performs everyone’s favorite Beatles songs. Beatles fans will have nostalgia as the band performs dressed up in the Ed Sullivan Show black suits, the Sgt.
