We are seeking prospective interns who are interested in urban planning, creative placemaking, public art and community engagement. We appreciate candidates who are passionate about the arts and want to help us reach folks who would benefit from participation with the arts in our area. This internship will start in June 2024 and end in February 2025 and is a 15-20 per week part-time job. We ask that the intern be available to train the next intern.
The intern will be asked to assist with Arts District programs and initiatives in the following ways: • Assist with outreach to potential participating organizations and artists. • Attend meetings and community events. • Update donor system with recent donors • Assist with Guided First Thursday ArtWalk Tours • Social Media assistance to promote Arts District initiatives and activities. We expect the intern to be well versed in Word, Excel and be willing to learn how to work with Mail Chimp, Donately, Zeffy, Survey Monkey, as well as other appropriate applications, in support of Arts District initiatives.
The mission of the San Pedro Waterfront Arts District is to support, advocate, and promote San Pedro arts and artists in all genres. We celebrate diversity and inspire appreciation of cultural and artistic expression. We are focused on generating new opportunities to support local artists and nurturing the cultural roots of San Pedro, through our programming and promotions. Our programs celebrate the diversity of our neighbors and inspire deep appreciation of the many cultural and artistic influences found in San Pedro. Downtown San Pedro is graced by over 40 art studios/galleries, over 25 unique non-chain restaurants, and many world class visual artists, whose work is displayed in notable institutions.
