Description

Come and work as an Arts Administration Intern for LA’s premier women’s choir, VOX Femina Los Angeles! Learn the inside scoop on what makes a successful music ensemble run for over 25 years; discover how to shape the social justice mission of an organization; and acquire messaging and marketing skills across social media and beyond.   The intern will assist the Executive Director and Administrative Coordinator with the day-to-day administrative operations of the organization. Activities will include: assisting with database management; creation of season tickets and subscriptions through the ticketing platform; assisting in the creation of a marketing plan, calendar, and materials for promoting the season. This position will work approximately 15-20 hours a week from June through December. 

Qualifications

Preferred skills: Strong organizational skills;  Effective and inclusive writing and communication skills to connect with the diverse stakeholders of VOX Femina (donors, singers, and collaborators); The ability to learn quickly, handle multiple tasks, take initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision; Familiarity with standard computer software programs, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (familiarity with design software is a plus but not required); Working knowledge of the latest social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, to connect with a diverse array of patrons, donors, singers and community members; Knowledge of website design platform WIX is helpful, but not required.

VOX Femina Los Angeles, LA's premier women's choir, gives women voice through the performance of quality choral literature. Diverse in culture, age, race, belief, and sexual identity, we are dedicated to commissioning new works and raising awareness about issues that affect us as a family of women. Through our music, we seek to create a world which affirms the worth and dignity of every person. Since our debut in April 1997, VOX has performed a catalogue of music exemplifying diverse musical styles and repertoire. In keeping with our mission, VOX has commissioned over 40 new works for women’s voices, and collaborated with over 35 contemporary composers.
