In 2000, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors established the AIP to provide internships for nonprofit performing, presenting, film, media, literary, and municipal arts organizations. The purpose of the County’s program was to provide undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job training and experience working in nonprofit arts organizations. Today, it has grown into the largest paid arts internship program in the nation.

2020 marked the Arts Internship Program's 20th anniversary. The 2020 program was a year unlike any other, and to mark the occasion, we are pleased to share the following program materials with you. 

Arts Summit 2020

Each summer, the Department of Arts and Culture holds an Arts Summit at a arts location in one of LA County's five Supervisorial districts. These summits are a chance for LA County Arts Intern to gather for a celebration of their participation in the program, as well as performances, workshops, activities, and a chance to connect. Adhering to social distancing guidelines, Arts Summit 2020 was held via zoom on October 7, 2020. We've gathered a number of materials from this virtual summit on this page. We hope you enjoy!
