Sandra de la Loza’s work critically investigates questions of power and representation within contemporary political, social and cultural landscapes. Through collaborations with specific communities, she finds strategies of making invisible histories visible through projects that result in multimedia installations, video, photographic work, publications and public interventions. De la Loza received her MFA from California State University, Long Beach and is the recipient of grants from the Center for Cultural Innovation, the California Community Foundation and the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. She is the founder of the Pocho Research Society of Erased and Invisible History, an ongoing collaborative project that engages the subject of “History” through critical inquiry and artistic processes.
