Michael Haggins Group combines jazz and R&B to generate a smooth funk sound. The group plays original music and cover tunes of songs by Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Sade and R&B classics from the '70s and '80s. The group has performed at the Playboy Jazz Festival, the legendary Spaghettini Grill & Jazz Club in Seal Beach, and many other Southern California events and festivals, such as those presented by 94.7 The Wave and KJLH radio station. Michael is a successful contemporary bass player and songwriter from Pasadena with major music placements of his original songs.
Updating and reinvigorating the lively son jarocho music of Veracruz, Mexico, Conjunto Jardín specializes in presenting this style to a broad audience and features a female requinto player. This group of individual mariachi musicians is truly an all-star mariachi made up of the best around the world. Many of Mariachi Espectacular’s members also produce, compose, arrange and record. Grammy Award-winning producer Beto Jimenez's idea when forming the group was to bring the highest level of mariachi talent together. They have recorded one CD entitled "Pura Tradicion." This is an all-male group, but able to add in a female vocalist/musician to the ensemble upon request.
Sgt. Peppers is a Beatles tribute band that performs everyone’s favorite Beatles songs. Beatles fans will have nostalgia as the band performs dressed up in the Ed Sullivan Show black suits, the Sgt. Peppers outfits and Abbey Road clothing. Sgt. Peppers employs the same vintage instruments and amplifiers used by the Beatles to replicate what a Beatles performance would have sounded like live.
"Jazz Group of the Year" nominee (Oasis Jazz Awards) Lao Tizer Band is a group of all-star musicians from diverse geographic, ethnic, and musical backgrounds. Led by keyboardist, composer, recording artist, and former "Best New Jazz Artist" nominee Lao Tizer, the group performs almost entirely original music—available in instrumental arrangements or with vocals. They also perform in various configurations, ranging from a trio to an octet (and everything inbetween), offering a variety of programming with budgetary flexibility.
Directed and founded by trumpet player Cindy Shea in 1999, under the musical direction of Grammy® Award- winning Alberto "Beto" Jimenez Maeda, the Mariachi Divas have made big waves on the national and international music scene. A two-time Grammy® Award winner, with five Grammy® nominations and two Latin Grammy® nominations, the Mariachi Divas are a multicultural all-female ensemble imbued with the true flavor of Los Angeles. In addition, the Mariachi Divas have been performing regularly at Disneyland Resort since 2003.
Louie Cruz Beltran performs a mix of Latin, jazz, salsa, pop, original, and R&B influenced music. Louie is a band leader, not just a frontman on congas. He sets the repertoire and drives the performance, but he is also renowned for keeping audiences entertained and on the dance floor through his mix of humor, soaring vocals, and superb musicianship. From Latin jazz and cumbia to R&B classics, the common denominators of this versatile entertainer’s varied repetoire are dynamic percussion and solid showmanship.
Orquesta Charangoa plays traditional Cuban dance rhythms of son, mambo, cha-cha-cha, merengue and danzon. A favorite in L.A. salsa dance circles, the group features flute, strings, three-part vocal harmonies and Cuban percussion. They have shared the stage with Los Van Van, Isreal Lopez Cachao and Nestor Torres and performed at many festivals including Watts Towers Jazz Festival, L.A. Salsa Festival, L.A. Cuba Festival, Oxnard Salsa Festival and Dance Downtown at the Music Center.
